When I was knitting Waiting for Spring earlier this year, I kept thinking how beautiful the fishnet lace stripes looked on garter stitch background. And I knew I wanted to take the idea further.
Tidelines is the beautiful result. It’s simple and straightforward – understated beauty at its best.
You’ll love knitting this shawl! There’s lots of relaxing garter stitch paired with alternating stripes of fishnet lace and eyelets. All of them are simple stitch patterns that are soothing to knit and let your yarn be in the spotlight.
And the best part? You can use any yarn you want for this one.
For my shawl, I chose a skein of Wollmeise Pure (100% Merino; 525 m / 574 yds per 150 g) in Jeton. I’ve been looking for the perfect project for it for a while now and this was it.
You can make Tidelines bigger or smaller, depending on how much yarn you have.
Or try different yarn weights! I’m already dreaming of knitting another one for winter. With a beautiful and rustic worsted weight wool in off-white, maybe?
I wrote the pattern for fingering weight yarn, but there’s notes on how to adapt it to any weight and amount of yarn you have on hand.
