New pattern: Moon Dust shawl
I know it’s only two weeks since the release of Lighthouse shawl, but it’s the cold winter looming around the corner (and it really gets cold here in Finland!) that makes it impossible to put down my knitting needles. So here I am again with a new shawl to share with you.
Introducing Moon Dust
Garter stitch, seed stitch, and contrast color fishnet lace make Moon Dust a simple and relaxing knit while still keeping the knitting entertaining. The end result is an open and lofty wrap which depending on your color combo can be a classy, timeless wardrobe staple or a wildly bold statement piece.
Moon Dust is worked sideways from one corner to the opposite side of the triangle. Increases are made on one side only for a slightly asymmetric triangle shape.
I asked a bunch of knitters on Ravelry to knit the shawl before it’s release and I can’t believe the stunners they created! Here’s a preview to their gorgeous Moon Dust shawls, you can see the full details on their Ravelry project pages. So much inspiration!
My sample shawl is knitted in a very colourful combo of Hedgehog Fibres Sock in colours Pollen and Genie, and now a second one with these more subtle colors of La Bien Aimée Merino Singles is in the works. It seems I always gravitate back to gray…
We’re having a knit-along for Moon Dust on our Ravelry group. Come join us!
Moon Dust is available for purchase on LoveKnitting and Ravelry.
Happy knitting! ♥
