Size 5 mm / US 8 needle or size that gives you pattern gauge
This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using an 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needle to accommodate the growing number of stitches.

19 stitches and 24 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in open star stitch before blocking
