Airy and light Linum is a modern triangle shawl that begins from the bottom tip. You knit your way up, alternating garter stitch stripes with mesh lace blocks that change direction.
Linum is a beautiful one skein wonder that’s written for fingering weight yarn. But it’s also easy to modify to fit your needs. You can use lighter or heavier yarns. Or make yours larger, if you have more yarn. Simply pick your favourite yarn and cast on!
Yarn
One skein of WalkCollection Linea (50% Alpaca, 25% Silk, 25% Linen; 400 m / 437 yds per 100 g). Shown in colourway Jade.
Or approximately 344 m / 376 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.
Needles
Size 4 mm / US 6 circular needle. Or size that gives you pattern gauge.
This shawl is worked flat but I recommend using a 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needle to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
Gauge
18 stitches and 36 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in garter stitch, before blocking.
Finished measurements
After blocking
