Small scarves are always in season! Orbit is a simple and easy scarf knitting pattern with a sleek, elongated triangle shape.
It’s fun to whip up and perfect for everyday wear.
With garter stitch and simple eyelets, it’s relaxing and deliciously mindless to knit.
And the best part? All you need is one skein of DK-weight yarn!
Yarn
One skein of Madelinetosh Tosh DK (100% Merino; 206 m / 225 yds per skein). Shown in colour Thoreau.
Or approximately 206 m / 225 yds of similar DK weight yarn.
Needles
Size 5 mm / US 8 needles or size that gives you pattern gauge.
Although this scarf is worked flat, I recommend using 60 – 80 cm / 24 – 32 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
Gauge
17 stitches and 32 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in garter stitch before blocking
Finished measurements
After blocking
Width: 170 cm / 67 in
Depth: 38 cm / 15 in
Stitches used
k: knit
kfb: knit to front and back loop of the same stitch
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit two stitches together
